Second graders and 9/11

Boy drawing on the sidewalk with chalk

On Friday, second graders at New Scotland Elementary School learned that although 9/11 was a tragedy, people also united and helped one another during that time of great sadness and loss.

Students read the book “Never Forget 9/11: Love Always Wins.” They discussed how they can help others by empowering them, comforting them and making them smile during difficult times. And then they went outside and drew chalk pictures on the sidewalk in front of school about love, support and remembering 9/11.
