Catch a winter concert

Get into the spirit of the season and hear some great music at winter concerts in the City School District of Albany.

The school concert season officially starts at 7 p.m. Monday, when New Scotland Elementary School will hold its holiday concert at William S. Hackett Middle School.

Elementary and middle school concerts will feature performances by students in band, orchestra and chorus. At the high school, in two performances, concert-goers will hear from two choirs, two concert bands and two orchestras.

The mission of the City School District of Albany is to educate and prepare all students for college and career, citizenship and life, in partnership with our diverse community. The district serves about 9,500 students in 18 elementary, middle and high schools. In addition to neighborhood schools, the district includes several magnet schools and programs, as well as other innovative academic opportunities for students, including four themed academies at Albany High School.
