College & Career Week 2026: First Responders

A student learns how to do chest compressions on a dummy.

Day 2 of College and Career Week included a visit from the men and women in Albany who keep us safe!

Thank you to the Albany Police Department, Albany Fire Department, Mohawk Ambulance and New York State Police for sharing what it takes to be a first responder.

Our scholars suited up and even learned life-saving skills from the visiting emergency and rescue workers – definitely careers to strive for in the future.

Tomorrow, our eighth-grade heads to UAlbany for a college tour, representatives from Albany High's CTE program will visit on Thursday and we end the week with a Q&A forum with UAlbany, HVCC and Siena.
