Congratulations to our NAMS What's So Cool About Manufacturing Club for bringing home the gold at a regional competition this week! If your student-athlete is on the modified track team, Albany High School's Booster Club needs your help! Concession stand sign-ups are open for two upcoming modified track meets at AHS (April 30 and May 21). Even if your child is not on the track team, this is a GREAT way to get involved at Albany High School - the Booster Club supports extra-curriculars from music and theater, sports and clubs, art and JROTC and more! Please note that to sign up for a volunteer slot you do have to make an account but you do not have to become a sponsor.

Our Q3 Honor Roll Ceremony is scheduled for May 8 at 9 a.m. Please consider contributing baked goods or drinks for the student "after party." The PTA is also accepting monetary donations to support the event. Thanks, in advance for your help!

As a reminder, our sixth-grade swim unit is underway and will run through May 1. Details from the City School District of Albany's Athletic Department can be found here.
On Tuesdays through June 23, NAMS will be hosting flag football skills and drills sessions from 6:30-8 p.m. The free program is run by Kidz First and please note that transportation is not provided. Additional details can be found here.
All students are welcome to participate in Saturday School in advance of the New York State exams in April and May. It runs every Saturday, except for during breaks, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. The sessions provide test-taking strategies, make-up work opportunities and core subject support. Update from the PTA:
- The Hannaford Helps Schools program will kick off this weekend! From April 5-May 30 all shoppers will earn 3 School Dollars for every 4 participating products purchased. At checkout, you will receive a School Dollar printout to be redeemed online via a QR code on the printout. Or, you can give to PTA to redeem. It's that easy! The top 200 schools to raise the most money through School Dollars will each receive a $1000 bonus check!

- Please continue to save any shopping or dining receipts from Colonie Center for the School Bucks Program. Again, drop off at the NAMS Main Office or contact the PTA to coordinate pick up.
- Another way to earn cash for our school with items you already buy is via the Clynk recycling program (bags available at the Main Office and once filled, we will pick up) or Box Tops. Details on both programs can be found here.
Support the organizations that support our kids! Two great fundraising events are coming up and you're invited! Albany Fund for Education's gala is May 2 and the Vegetable Project's annual Evening in the Garden is scheduled for May 5.
TeenXcel, which will take place every Tuesday through June 16 at the former College of St. Rose campus (420 Western Ave.! This free program is for students ages 13-18 and it offers a nutritious meal and structured enrichment activities, including basketball and e-gaming, to support participants’ physical, social and emotional development. Guided by trained YMCA staff and volunteers, TeenXcel also cultivates positive peer relationships and provides teens with access to adult mentors and role models.
