Albany County's Department for Children, Youth and Families recognized five district students at an annual ceremony and celebration on Thursday.
The 22nd annual Youth Recognition Awards are an exciting initiative that acknowledges middle and high school students who have overcome adversity, shown tremendous resiliency and growth, athletic achievement, artistic expression or demonstrated their citizenship and civic engagement through community service.
- Keymer Cardozo Longart - Artistic Expression Award - Albany International Academy
- Ginevra Levy - John F. Finn Community Service Award - Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School
- Shabina Haqyar - Ed Roche Outstanding Youth Award - North Albany Middle School
- Harmony Horton - George Roe Athletic Achievement Award - William S. Hackett Middle School
- Sincere Allah - George Roe Athletic Achievement Award - Albany High School
