A student practices a Flamenco dance move.

We’re not sure who enjoyed Tuesday’s Flamenco dancing lesson in recognition of Black History Month more – our students or our staff!

Check out our moves and thank you to instructor Omonike Akinyemi from Image Quilt Dance Theater.

Flamenco, typically thought to be a Spanish dance, has "deep sub-Saharan African roots," according to an article entitled "Decolonizing Flamenco Through Exploring Black Influences" in Dance Magazine.
