Jump Start Summer Program
Jump Start is a four‐week in-person summer program that helps students begin kindergarten ready and excited to learn. The program focuses on building social‐emotional and academic skills through hands‐on, engaging learning experiences. Students will be more comfortable entering school on the first day in September and better prepared for the expectations of the kindergarten curriculum.
The Jump Start Summer Program is open to registered City School District of Albany students who will enter kindergarten in September.
In general, participants are identified by current pre-K staff based on a number of academic and developmental factors. Staff will then contact parents and guardians to recommend their child participate.
If you feel that your child would benefit from this program, and are not contacted by June 13, you may contact the Early Childhood Department at (518) 475-6591 to inquire about possible enrollment.

Locations
This program is offered at Pine Hills Elementary School, serving students from all our elementary schools throughout the district.
Transportation
All families are eligible for transportation to and from the program. Additional information will be provided if your child is offered a seat in the program.
Meals
Breakfast and lunch are provided each day as part of the program.
