Board invites candidates for open seat

The City School District of Albany Board of Education is inviting candidates to apply for its open seat. The board currently is operating with six members, one short of its full complement.

Albany residents interested in filling the vacancy should send a letter of interest as well as a resume or list of qualifications by 5 p.m. on Monday, July 31 to the City School District of Albany, 1 Academy Park, Albany, NY 12207. Please send all materials to the attention of Board Clerk Paula Tibbitts.

Each candidate’s letter of interest and resume or list of qualifications will be posted on the district’s website. All candidates will have the opportunity to make a public presentation during either the Aug. 17 or Aug. 31 board meetings. All candidates should specify in the letter of interest which of those dates they would be available to present.

The seat will run through June 30, 2018. It is open following board member Kenneth M. Bruce's resignation in May.
