2023-24 budget information
The City School District of Albany is in the final stages of the annual budget-development process, anticipating the adoption of the New York state budget on April 1 to finalize our revenue projections for the 2023-24 school year. The budget vote will be May 16.
This year, the budget vote also will include a referendum of approximately $9 million related to the Albany High School project. This referendum would have no additional impact on taxes. Check out the March 16 Board of Education meeting video below to learn more about this proposal.
Two Board of Education seats also will be on the May 16 ballot. The terms of Vice President Anne Savage and member Damarise Mann expire at the end of June. Visit our Board section for more information.

Each year, the Board of Education's Government Relations Committee takes the lead in developing the City School District of Albany's legislative priorities for the year ahead. These programmatic and fiscal goals are developed in the fall, and committee members follow up with numerous meetings with our state leaders through winter and early spring to advocate for these important needs for our students and families.
For the 2023-24 school year, these are the district's legislative priorities. You also can check out this document with more information about each of these items.

Community Budget Committee
The Community Budget Committee participates in the district’s budget-development process with a goal of providing input to the Board of Education on community priorities and areas residents would like to see resources directed for the upcoming school year.
The process allows committee members to work alongside district employees to develop an understanding of district revenue sources, mandated programs and services, and resource allocation in support of the district’s vision, mission and goals.
