No volunteers at this time

In alignment with the COVID-19 health and safety protocols in the City School District of Albany’s 2021-22 Back to School Plan, we are not accepting volunteers into our schools at this time unless they are directly part of a contracted program or service.

From the Visitors section of our Back to School Plan:

“Volunteers will be allowed to enter school buildings and engage in school-related activities only in those cases where their presence and participation is established as part of a formal contractual program or activity.”

Volunteers that are specifically connected to a contracted program or service in your building must follow all COVID-19 protocols at all times, including wearing a mask regardless of their vaccination status and practicing social distancing.

We know and value the important role volunteers play in building a school community. However, the continued safety of our students, faculty and staff is a priority for the school district, and the volunteer pause will continue until further notice.

Regardless of the current restriction, prospective volunteers may complete the application for school volunteer or student volunteer and we will begin the screening process. That way we will be able to get the volunteers into schools quickly when the COVID restrictions are lifted.
