Limited student parking available

The following message is from Albany High School Principal Jodi Commerford.

Due to ongoing construction, we've faced challenges in offering student parking. However, we're thrilled to share that we will soon open up 20 student parking spaces exclusively to juniors and seniors.

Please note that due to the limited spaces available, not all students will be able to secure a spot. To ensure fairness, we'll implement a parking request process, prioritizing seniors first. Eligibility criteria include maintaining good academic standing and a 90% attendance rate.

Get a link to an online parking permit request. If selected, you will be contacted by the main office. Vehicles on campus without a permit may result in the vehicle being towed.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to address student parking needs during this construction period.

Please note the rules and regulations governing student parking:

Parking applicants and their Parents/Guardians must carefully read and agree to all of the terms and conditions outlined below. Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in the loss of parking privileges and possible further disciplinary action. Students should understand that parking is a privilege, not a right.

Students must possess a valid driver's license to be eligible for a parking permit.

Vehicle registration

Proof of vehicle registration is required for parking approval.

Insurance card

Students must provide an updated insurance card showing coverage for the vehicle they intend to park on campus.

Non-transferable pass

Parking passes are non-transferable and cannot be shared or given to another student.

Parking permit display

Display the issued parking permit visibly on the vehicle while parked on campus.

Designated parking areas

Park only in designated student parking areas as assigned by the school.

Speed limit

Adhere to the posted speed limit on school grounds at all times.

No reckless driving

Prohibited are reckless driving, speeding or any unsafe driving practices.

Compliance with traffic signs

Parking lot etiquette

Maintain courteous behavior, avoid littering, and respect other parked vehicles.

Property regulations

All school district policies and the Code of Conduct apply to vehicles parked on school property, including restrictions on alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco products, smoking, vaping, etc.

Reporting new information

Students must report any changes in vehicle or license plate information promptly to the school authorities.

Adherence to these regulations is essential for promoting safety, order, and compliance with school policies in student parking areas on high school campuses
