Hot air balloon lab

A student shows off the hot air balloon he built in science class.

Second-grade science is taking off at Arbor Hill Elementary School!

During a lab led by Monique Lanciault, students learned about hot air balloons and how they fly.

As part of Marion McCarthy and Jessica Piacente’s unit on 'Matter: Solids, Liquids and Gas,' the budding scientists first sketched out their plan, then used the materials provided to build a model hot air balloon and then, the most fun part, put their project to the test and watched it take flight!
