Eclipse offers science and art lesson

A student uses chalk to work on an eclipse project.

Nothing like a rare celestial event to bring out classroom creativity!

Since they haven’t seen one before – and won’t again for another 20 years – second grade simulated the moon passing between the earth and the sun through art!

They used chalk and a stencil to create their own umbra (or what they think it will look like) and their final projects were just as impressive as the real thing!

Happy viewing - we can't wait to hear about everyone's experience tomorrow morning!
