On Monday, the wildlife warriors at Delaware Community School got up close and personal with live birds of prey, or raptors.
And they loved it.
Our friends at the Wildlife Institute of Eastern New York taught students in grades 2-5 about the behaviors and habitats of the Eastern screech owl, the Aplomado falcon, barred owl and turkey vulture. And then handlers brought each bird around the cafeteria so students could get a good look at these magnificent creatures.
