Hands on science is the best kind of science!

Students display rocks as part of a geology lesson at Montessori Magnet School.

Instead of cracking books, Kate DelBene’s students cracked rocks for their science lesson on Jan. 24

“Geologist Jon” returned to the first and second-grade classroom to lead a geode observation which included close examination, measuring and - much to the young scientists’ delight - lots of hammering that revealed beautiful crystals.
