Easy as pi(e) math

Two students complete a math project on Pi Day.

Fifth grade worked with a 1-2 class on Thursday for a timely project that ended with a sweet treat!

It’s March 14 – or in the math world Pi Day – so our students paired up to celebrate!

They first measured the circumference and diameter of the cookie and then calculated the ratio of the circumference/diameter which approximately equals 3.14.

After the hard work was done, the students enjoyed their circle confection and another great collaborative lesson.
