Learning is sweet!

Students bake cupcakes to learn ratios and proportions.

During the second week of Saturday Academy, a program created to support New York State test preparation, students created a Shark Tank pitch (in alignment with English language arts priority standards) around the best cupcakes (in alignment with math priority standards). The project entailed practicing the writing process and continued to dive deeper into ratios and proportions. Students also participated in reading comprehension and writing workshops.

Thanks to the 26 students who attended and, also, the staff who facilitated: Renee Meade, Madison Albright, Jen Salvaggio, Ellen Biggane, Roxanne Colangelo and Molly Peluso.
