Grade 8 will learn more than reading, writing and arithmetic before graduation

A volunteer from Junior Achievement teaches student about financial literacy.

By the end of the school year, Larry Drew’s students will know more than their way around a kitchen!

The eighth graders will also have the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future and make smart academic and economic choices, thanks to Junior Achievement of Northeastern New York.

The non-profit organization has run a series of lessons in the Family and Consumer Science (FACS) classes at Myers this spring and the focus of Wednesday’s session, led by a volunteer from Citizens Bank, was credit scores.
