Shrinky Dink R&D

A student places a Shrinky Dink in a toaster oven.

R and D (Research and Development) is a growing job field and our eighth graders are learning the ins and outs of the industry!

This week Melissa Hirt’s technology classes produced polystyrene Shrinky Dinks. They created a design, then baked it with the end goal of calculating the scale factor to simulate designing a polystyrene product to the desired size.

Instead of shipping the product to a customer though, students are able to take this finished product home!
