Three students observe a worm's reaction to light

Second-graders at Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST) spent time in Debra Calvo McNicholas’ lab Tuesday, studying worms and recording their squirmy preferences.

The young scientists made predictions, then worked in teams and observed whether worms preferred light or darkness, rough or smooth surfaces, or wet or dry conditions. They recorded their findings on their Chomebook computers.

Curious about what they discovered? The students are from Kim Nies’ class. Ask them!
