The City School District of Albany is offering families the opportunity to pick up COVID-19 test kits at Harriet Gibbons Student Services Center this month.
The district is offering these test kits to help families prepare for the new year. Testing is not required before students return to school. However, the district is encouraging families to test prior to the start of school, and to keep students home if they test positive or exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms.
Parents, guardians and students can pick up a test kit at Harriet Gibbons on the following schedule this month. Harriet Gibbons is located at 75 Watervliet Ave. Pickup will be available from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day:
- Friday, Aug. 19
- Tuesday, Aug. 23
- Wednesday, Aug. 24
- Tuesday, Aug. 30
- Wednesday, Aug. 31
The district also anticipates receiving a new shipment of COVID-19 tests from the state during the last week of August. Please watch for additional information about picking up tests at your child’s school after the new school year begins.
The 2022-23 school year will begin with a staggered start by grade level Sept. 1-2.
The first full day of school for all students district-wide will be Tuesday, Sept. 6.
